The Horned Puffin (Fratercula corniculata) is an AUK, similar in appearance to theAtlantic Puffin; this bird's bill is yellow at the base and red at the tip. It is a pelagicseabird That feeds primarily by diving for fish. It nests in colonies, often with Other auks.
The yellow bill plate grows Before the season and Breeding Shed is later. Broke have asmall fleshy black "Horn" today 'their eyes. Broke have a white face with a dark lineextending from the back of the eye and Red feet.
This species breeds on rocky Islands off the coasts of Siberia, Alaska and BritishColumbia, in burrows, in rocky cavities or among rocks. It Winters far out to sea.Feeding Areas Are Located Fairly usually far offshore from the Nest. There is usuallyone chick and Both Parents feed the young.
Horned puffins return from Will Hunting with several small fish in their beaks. Also brokeEAT Squid and crustaceans.
The Population of bagged birds facing declined due to the Introduction of rats ontoSome Islands Used for nesting.

  2. The Puffin is such an adorable little bird with its whimsical face and big flipper feet. I am so sorry that it is on the endangered species list! I adopted one and it lives in my animal habitat in one of my suite rooms.
